These just in! Family and Party Game Convo Starters brought to you by The Box Girls and Melissa & Doug.
We have all price points, from $1.00 Party Favor tiny boxes of questions for slumber parties and the birthday girl, to small boxes for family dinner and truth or dare. Some of the questions in the Slumber Party Mini Box are : “Which cartoon charater do you think you resemble?” and the always fun “ What sond would be the perfect theme song to your life?”

How cute is this?
It is the Melissa & Doug Cooks Corner Kitchen. We sell it for $90.99. I love the retro vibe, and the fact that is isn’t some hulking plastic toy. It has a smaller footprint for a kitchen. This combined with our Kitchen Accessory Set:

Do you remember Fashion Plates? Back in the Day?
I played with these things up until High School (as my BFF can attest too….) and even sent Her a set in college- that I snagged off of ebay.
And now we Have Them In The Store!!!!!
Thanks to the ever so awesome Melissa & Doug, we now carry the Fashion Design Activity Kit. It is pink and purple, made to travel, and magically delicious. I am going to open a set up right now, and think about using these back in 1989 while listening to Backstreet Boys and reading Tiger Beat.

I just checked in three Melissa & Doug Princess Role Play costumes, and three Melissa & Doug Fairy Role play costumes, and they are cuuuuute! The princess is a pink satin cinderella style gown for ages 3-6, with a crown and sceptre. The Fairy is purple with wings and a wand, also sized for ages 3-6 years. The quality of both are wonderful, and will last way beyond Halloween! We sell each costume for 20.99 plus tax. 
We have two Melissa & Doug Giraffes in the store. I am very attached to them. Actually, I think we shall name them. However, like pretty much everything in the store- they are for sale. Check this guy out in an amazing nursery (If I had seen this before Atti Gray was born- I think a nursery redo would have been in order!)

Word has it that Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice) received one for her May baby shower this year. (oh la la!)

My take? This is a seriously cute piece of plush. I like that while it is really, really big-it has a smallish footprint- with the size in the height. It would make an impact in any nursery or child’s room. If you had an animal crazy kid, this giraffe given along with a safari themed puzzle, would be a “wow!” gift. I can also see it as a decor piece at an animal or safari themed birthday party- pop on a safari hat and binoculars on the guests and take a themed pic! It would also get a lot of “ohs and ahs” as a shower gift. One can only imagine what Posh had to say!
I just added this new item to our Melissa & Doug assortment:
Wooden Grill Slice and Sort Playset: Really nice pretend play food set, with grill box, silver wooden knife, wooden play food: onion, green pepper, tomatoes,beef cubes and shrimp (or prawns if you were up at 4am watching Chalie and Lola like I was) that you can “slice” and then “thread” on to silver skewers. You can also turn your pretend kabobs on your grill box with little tongs. It has 17 woodedn pieces total, and is for ages 3+ .
The review: This toy has it all. It is smartly designed- all the grill pieces store in the grill box- love that. And, aesthtically, the black grill box would blend right into your decor- I think you could store it right on your living room shelf and no one would be the wiser .
Extension activites: Your child can work on fine motor development with threading the veggies on the skewers, and can also work on color recognition with the food items. Counting: you can count the pieces while you place on the skewers. And patterning! You could ask your preschool child to copy your pattern in your kabob! There is also restaurant play- I would like one prawn kabob please! Ok, the more I think about it- I really love this toy!

These two link toys are really cute and a great value! They are a nice size and soft, with sturdy links and eyes that are a nice contrast from the body of the toy to really grab a little one’s attention!
